Origen de la canción
“There Will Never Be Another You” era el número musical más destacado del film Iceland, producido en 1942 por 20th Century Fox y dirigido por H. Bruce Humberstone. No se estrenó en España; en él, John Payne cantaba esta canción a Sonja Henie y también la interpretaba Joan Merrill, acompañada por la orquesta de Sammy Kaye. La película fue vapuleada por la crítica y el público se mostró indiferente. “There Will Never Be Another You” tuvo escaso éxito popular en su tiempo.
Harry Warren fue un compositor longevo y prolífico. Murió a los ochenta y ocho años y durante cuatro décadas escribió más de ochocientas canciones, muchas de las cuales figuran en la banda sonora de más de trescientas películas. Estuvo nominado para el Oscar a la mejor canción en once ocasiones y lo ganó tres veces, con "Lullaby of Broadway" (1935), "You'll Never Know" (1943) y "On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe" (1946). Veintiuna de sus canciones alcanzaron el número uno en las listas de popularidad.
Harry Warren y Mack Gordon colaboraron también en “Chattanooga Choo Choo” (1941), “Serenade in Blue” (1942), “At Last” (1942), “You'll Never Know” (1943), “I Wish I Knew” (1945), “The More I See You” (1945) y “This Is Always” (1946), entre otras canciones.
